Forming a Club

How can I form one?

Get an affiliation form from the SA Administration or online. You’ll need 15 students to sign the membership form as founding members along with a constitution (a model one is available or you can write your own), and then bring the forms back to us. You’ll need to decide upon three trustees for the club or society (these can be changed later by application). You must keep the SA informed of changes in contact details so we can give students information on how to contact you. Once all the forms are complete come in to the SA and we will make you an appointment with the C&S Committee to affiliate. These meetings are held once a week in term time.

How do I set up a bank account for a club or society?

Once you have affiliated, the ANUSA will give you a letter to take down to the Service One Member Banking Credit Union who will then let you set up a bank account. You will require all three trustees to sign the application forms and must make sure that you close the account if the Club or Society will not be running next year.

What resources can I get access to now?

  • You can use the Board Room and the Clubs and Societies Room in the ANUSA building - just book it at the front desk.
  • You can photocopy in the ANUSA. You will need to apply for photocopying points. One point = one A4 sized copy.
  • You can apply for mailout points.
  • You can use the computers in the Clubs and Societies Room.
  • Your club/society will get a pidgeon hole int the Clubs and Societies Room and you can use the ANUSA's mailing address to get your mail delivered here.
  • You can get webspace on the ANU's server - so you can maintain a website for your club/society. Once you have been affiliated with the ANU Students' Association, we will give you a letter to take to DOI.
  • You can also hire rooms around the campus for free and book BBQ's.
